Skills Programme: Managers – Effective Team Leadership
The term “team leader” is used very often for any person responsible for a group. Unfortunately, the chances are that that person is not fully aware of the great responsibility he or she has the “team leader”. A team leader is someone who provides guidance, instruction, direction and leadership to a group of other individuals (the team) for the purpose of achieving a key result or group of aligned results. A good team leader listens constructively to the membership and to the customer(s) of the results that the team is charged with delivering.

No matter the complexity or size of your team or the responsibilities you might have as team leader, you still need to fulfil a very important role. The purpose of this programme is to guide team leaders on some of the aspects of effective team leadership including building effective teams, resolving conflict and managing change.
